Creating Opportunity and Changing Lives

Our Mission

To provide people with a Christ-centered, Bible-based recovery ministry that helps them transition back into society after exiting the criminal justice system or treatment facilities.

Redemption Road Ministries provides housing, re-entry and transition services for men exiting the criminal justice system. Redemption Road was established to provide healthy community and the hope that is only found in Jesus to those who are hopeless due to addiction and broken lifestyles. We walk with our brothers and sisters to provide recovery from a fallen world, which includes drug and alcohol abuse, damaged relationship, and various unhealthy lifestyle issues.

Our program assists in re-entry by creating networks of welcoming churches, landlords, employers, volunteers and community agencies that help residents in adjusting to their local neighborhoods, in maturing spiritual awareness, in assuming personal responsibility for their past actions and becoming industrious members of society. By combining sober housing with employment and faith-based life coaching we have seen successful re-integration into the community and reduced incidents of relapse.

“Redemption Road provides people in need with an onramp to a fresh start in life. ...[They] are bringing grace and redemption to so many people in our region”
— Dr. Bob Ona

Service

We emphasize the importance of giving back, especially to the community they previously took from, by explaining the benefits and challenges of serving others. We provide opportunities for the individuals in our program to experience the blessing of giving back.

Our Story

Coming from a life of addiction, Pastor David found new life in Christ.

Pastor David Vernoy with his wife, Noelle, their two children; Lily and Theo

Pastor David Vernoy's passion for ministry to those struggling with addiction stems from his own experience of addiction and redemption through Jesus Christ. Born to a mother who was a prostitute and addicted to heroin, David grew up in dope houses until he was six then was taken away from his mother and passed between family, boy's homes and foster homes. As a young man, David began his own struggle with drug addiction and ended up in a cycle of incarcerations. In a Christian treatment facility in 2000 he surrendered his life to Christ and started his road to recovery.

The addiction wasn't broken in an instant though as David continued to cycle between following Jesus and relapsing into addiction for a number of years. After his mother died of heroin overdose, David became serious about his recovery and sought to live a Christian life. He became a faithful church attender, became a licensed minister, and met and married his wife Noelle, who is also a licensed minister. David recognized the call of God to provide a safe place for other recovering addicts to be held accountable and cared for.

Because of his past, David has a unique ability to minister to those who struggle to accept their identity as children of God after dealing with addiction. So after much prayer and guidance, Pastor David, Noelle, and their two children, Theo and Lily, moved to Fargo, North Dakota in 2014 to start Redemption Road. Every step of the way, the Vernoys seek to follow the will of God and bring Him glory.

Our Location

Redemption Road is based in Fargo, ND

Images from Fargo, ND Houses.

With 10 houses in Fargo, our facilities currently support up to 35 residents. We expect to continue expanding program operations with more properties in the North Dakota region. We are able to house residents at rates far less than the national average which allows us to help more people with the finances we raise. Our residents are held accountable to remain sober and assist in maintaining the houses.
